Diverse Dials Showcase Event
So, why are dials interesting?
When you first look at a watch, what’s the first thing that you see? For some people, it’s the shape of the case, or others, it’s the bezel. But for most, it is probably the dial. That makes sense. The dial is where the time is displayed and it takes up most of the space on the front of the watch. Sometimes it is called the face of the watch.
You’ve probably noticed that watches have very different dials to each other. Some are simple, some are complicated. Some are eye-catching, others are discrete. In this event we will explore some of the most common dial types that you will see; what they are made of; and how they are made.
The Watch Collectors’ Club exists to bring people together to explore, learn and share the world of watches. To bring together watch lovers like you.
We are delighted to announce our next virtual event, exploring the diversity of watch dials. It’s on Sunday May 2nd, at 6:30pm BST.
You bring the watches, we will host the discussion. Here’s how it will work:
- Send us a pic or pics of the dial of your watch, of any brand
- We will put the pics together
- We host and run the Zoom call
- Each person will get two minutes to talk about the dial, what it means to them, and what they like about it
- If people want to discuss it, we discuss it
- We all learn a little, and see some great watch dials.
That’s it. A stress-free way to learn what’s out there, and hear why people wear what they wear. If you don’t want to participate, that’s fine, you can just listen in. It’s a showcase and a get together. We will be kind, considerate, and interested. We ask you be the same.
